Greg Groff – Drummer Greg Groff is a founding member of The Klassix. Greg is known for his rock-steady rhythm and engaging personality. He doubles as band leader, and prides himself on doing whatever it takes to please the client and audience alike. Greg was the drummer in two of Baltimore’s most respected bands – Voices and 1-x-1.
Bill Fritz – Bill Fritz started singing and playing sax in bands at the age of 16. After meeting his wife Judy in the local group Fastbreak, they ventured off to start The Klassix in 1986 – and the rest is history. Bill is honored to be playing with some of the top musicians in the area, and he energetically fronts The Klassix with crowd-pleasing flair. He’ll do all the emceeing you need, and then sing anything from Frank Sinatra to AC/DC! When you see him, be sure to ask him what it was like to be on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” back in 2000.
Steve Ports – Steve Ports holds down the rhythm section of The Klassix with his impeccable bass playing, while doubling as one of the band’s four primary lead singers. Various stints with Baltimore area nightclub acts include First Class and The Heat and the Cold Sweat Horns. Steve has performed solo at the Rockefeller Center in New York City and at numerous venues on the Delmarva Shore. Baltimore sports fans are likely to have had the honor of hearing Steve sing our National Anthem at Ravens Stadium, Johnny Unitas Stadium and McDaniel College. Steve is an avid songwriter, and his first CD is expected to be released soon.

Vicki Childs – The dynamic Viki Childs has been performing in Baltimore/DC area nightclubs for the past 30 years. Fronting bands such as One Of A Kind, Jeffrey, The Pedestrians, The Viki Childs Blues Project, and The Jim Allison Band, she commands the stage like no other. Viki moved to Los Angeles for two years, and appeared in five episodes of the TV show “Full House” (as one of the “Rippers”), and toured the country with the John Stamos Band in the early ‘90s.
She appeared on Star Search, as well as the Willie Nelson Music Invitational (on CMT). You’ve likely heard Viki’s voice on many radio and TV commercials. Her recording credits include an appearance on the Maryland Vietnam Veterans Memorial Album, and her solo album Middle of the Night.
David Bell – David Bell has been playing music professionally since 1976. As lead guitarist for The Ravyns, he’s had the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Billy Idol, Huey Lewis and the News, and the B-52's (among others). In 2000, he received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for "Best Original Song". Listed among his numerous recording credits is the single "Raised On the Radio", which was part of the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtrack. David joined The Klassix in 1997.
Don Wimbrough – Keyboardist Don Wimbrough played for years with Baltimore club-favorite Paper Cup. The band later evolved into Shor Patrol, and the group signed a recording contract with Arista Records. Shor Patrol toured the United States supporting their Billboard hit “Loverboy”. During his touring days, Don shared the stage with acts such as Nils Lofgren, The Spinners, and Clarence Clemons. Don and Steve Ports played together with the Heat and the Cold Sweat Horns. Don also played the Baltimore nightclub scene with the Love Diamonds, and performed regularly on the local TV show “The Collegians”. In addition to Don’s renowned keyboard abilities, he shares lead vocal duties in The Klassix with Bill, Viki, and Steve. |
